Safari Overview
This 7-day midrange safari offers a complete and relaxed journey through Tanzania’s famous Northern Circuit. The itinerary gives you more time to explore the wildlife-rich plains of Serengeti while also visiting Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara National Park.
You will experience a wide variety of landscapes, from the baobab-dotted savannah of Tarangire to the endless plains of Serengeti and the dramatic volcanic scenery of Ngorongoro. With several days dedicated to wildlife viewing, this safari provides excellent opportunities to see the Big Five and many other species in their natural habitats.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Your safari begins with a morning departure from Arusha. After a short briefing from your guide, you will drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant population and beautiful landscapes.
Upon entering the park, you will enjoy a game drive through open savannah, river valleys, and areas dotted with ancient baobab trees. Wildlife sightings may include elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and various antelope species.
Later in the afternoon, you will drive to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will begin your journey toward Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will enjoy scenic views of the highlands before descending into the Serengeti plains.
Once inside the park, you will enjoy a game drive as you make your way toward your accommodation. The Serengeti is home to a wide variety of wildlife including lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and large herds of grazing animals.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge or tented camp in Serengeti.

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti
Today you will spend the day exploring Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, you will head out for a full day game drive across the vast plains in search of wildlife.
The Serengeti ecosystem supports one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. You may encounter lions resting on kopjes, cheetahs hunting across the plains, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras grazing.
In the evening, return to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Another Full Day in Serengeti
After breakfast, you will enjoy another full day of wildlife viewing in Serengeti. Having additional time in the park allows you to explore different areas and follow wildlife movements.
Your guide will help locate animals and take you to areas where wildlife activity is most active. Depending on the season, you may also witness parts of the Great Migration as the herds move across the plains.
Dinner and overnight at your accommodation in Serengeti.

Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, you will enjoy a final morning game drive in Serengeti before departing for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Along the way, you may stop for wildlife sightings and scenic views. The landscape gradually changes from open plains to highland forests and rolling hills. By afternoon you will arrive in the Ngorongoro area where you will spend the evening relaxing at your lodge.
Dinner and overnight near the crater rim or in Karatu.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
After an early breakfast, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The crater floor supports a large population of wildlife including lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and many bird species.
Ngorongoro is also one of the best places to spot the rare black rhino. During the game drive you will stop for a picnic lunch while enjoying the stunning scenery of the crater.
Later in the afternoon, you will ascend the crater and drive to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park – Return to Arusha
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive. The park is famous for its lush groundwater forest, large troops of baboons, and scenic lake views.
During the game drive you may see elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and a variety of bird species along the lakeshore. Lake Manyara is also known for its tree-climbing lions, although sightings are not guaranteed.
In the afternoon, you will return to Arusha where your safari ends.
